The was my first time here and I loved it. The hydrotherapy is so relaxing. I could do the circuit all day but only spent 2 hours going through this time. My favorite parts were the cold plunge, then the hot tub and then laying in a hammock in the sun. Repeating that a few times then a short nap in a zero gravity chair was just what I needed. Wife bought us massages for our 10 year anniversary and our masseuse was amazing. I wish I caught her name. She worked out some very tight knots and I left with my back feeling so much better than when I arrived! We might not be able to afford massages every time we come to town (we come a lot) but we will spring for the hydrotherapy a lot in the near future. It was so relaxing.

This place is absolutely wonderful, lovely, delightful and a must visit. The staff is very helpful and attentive. I had an issue with my first visit and management promptly stepped in to assist and make things right. I have been several times now and look forward to going back. It is so restful and even though I usually stay 3-4 hours, the time flies by. My favorite is the steam rooms, sauna, and cold plunges but really, every square foot- including the locker rooms- is so lovely. I've gone with my spouse and as a girls day, but I could justify any reason to visit- even as a solo recharge day. I would recommend bringing shower flops and sunscreen/sunglasses/hat if you visit on a sunny day. Really, any weather is great when visiting- I almost prefer it colder and overcast because then you don't have to worry about sunscreen. With the reservations needed (it sells out!), you can't choose the weather but don't cancel if the weather looks crummy- it's really delightful any time!

I had a really amazing experience and I think its definitely worth the $67/per person that i had spent for the general access to the several cold and hot pools, the eucalyptus steam room, and the Himalayan salt sauna room. There are also areas to lounge and relax while doing something quiet like reading a book, writing in your journal, etc. these areas include spots near multiple fire pits, some hammocks, and a small indoor area if you wanted to lay down and read in there. I really really enjoyed my time at the Refuge. I've been wanting to go here for a long time and it didn't disappoint at all. I felt really relaxed and soothed and rejuvenated after spending a few hours here and it's definitely a place I need to return to and will be recommending to all my friends !

Took a mini trip to Carmel with mom from LA partly because of this spa. I had been wanting to visit for a while and was finally able to make the trip. We both got massages and enjoyed them very much. We then went into the pools and did a few thermal cycles before relaxing for the remainder of the evening. The facility wasn't too packed and there was plenty of space at the pools and saunas to enjoy. My only critique is that the locker rooms/showers/bathroom area is really small and a larger area to do skincare/hair would be nice. Also, the shampoo and conditioner provided in the showers was terrible. I think providing better quality products would make this a world class spa! Overall I definitely recommend visiting this spa if you're in the area
